The ability to persuasively convince and control audience is a skill that business men need to possess. If you can communicate in public confidently, then you stand a chance of getting your message heard and understood which can lead to sales.
Mediahooch Spaces in collaboration with Epic Digital Academy, Northpad Nigeria and Shipper Nigeria organized a 4weeks physical training on Public speaking. The goal of the training was to help participants to be confident, tackle glossophobia, manage the stage and be able to present and pitch their ideas to investors.
Objective
- Overcome nervousness and anxiety about speaking in public
- Project competence and confidence and command the room
- Use notes, cues and memory techniques so you’ll feel confident that you won’t forget what to say.
- Develop professional presentation skills
- Enhance your presentation with body language and non-verbal communication
- Use voice tonality and projection for emphasis
- Present data and complex information clearly
- Develop rapport and connect to your audience
- Break the ice and engage your audience using powerful workshop activities
- Use visual aids properly, including PowerPoint, flip charts, videos, and worksheets
- Structure an organized presentation based on your desired outcomes
- Target your talk to your audience
- Write the content for your presentation or curriculum using proven templates and blueprints
- Run meetings and group discussions like a pro
- Master the art of fielding questions from the audience
- How to handle difficult participants, keep them focused, and stay in control
Sessions
The first training began on 5th November, 2022 at the Mediahooch spaces with an introduction and opening speech from Ila Bappa Ibrahim, the founder of Mediahooch Spaces. He gave a brief experience of himself of how timid he was, the processes he undertook before he could stand in front multitude to speak with so much confidence.
Dr A.S Abdulrasheed, a public speaker, YouTuber and content creator and the founder of Epic Digital Academy made the participants to understand that public speaking is very important no matter the sector they find themselves in. He gave great tips and hacks on how to perfect speaking on stage and also laid emphasis on the importance of being conscious on the stage as it affects one’s whole posture and behaviour on the stage.
All participants presented on topics they felt comfortable discussing. No time bounds or limits. Some persons were emotional. Some were filled with so much. Each participants performance was evaluated based and feedbacks were given on certain key areas to improve and strengths to leverage on.
The training also had multiple sessions per contact through out the month of November where the participants had multiple takes on topics after which they were evaluated and giving feedbacks of their performances.
